I am pleased to offer lower-fee counseling services in my practice provided by Mia Freund Walker, MSW, PPSC, a clinical associate working under my supervision.
Mia has a Master's of Social Work degree and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from San Jose State University. She received the Outstanding MSW Research Project award for her work on the impact of social media on adolescent well being. She is currently working toward licensure as a clinical social worker.
Mia has extensive experience working with pre-teens, adolescents, adults and families in numerous settings including the San Francisco Unified School District, Jewish Family and Children's Services in San Francisco, and as a workshop leader at Kids' Turn. Mia is also an educator at My Digital Tat2, an organization that provides training and education on kind and responsible digital media use to schools, parent communities and organizations throughout the greater bay area. Mia's first career was in media and communication.
Mia provides individual and family therapy to pre-teens, adolescents and adults. She also works with couples and provides parent coaching. Her areas of expertise include parenting issues, healthy digital media use, children and families coping with significant life changes, loss, divorce, depression and anxiety. She provides a safe, supportive environment and builds a strong and trusting relationship with clients. Her goal is to give clients tools, language, and strategies that will bring more joy and positivity to everyday life, as well as to big life transitions.
Mia sees clients on Mondays.
Fees for Mia's services are $130 per 50-minute session.
