Individual Therapy

Seeking therapy is a big decision and it is important that you find a therapist who is the right fit. This means not only finding a therapist with the expertise you need, but also with whom you can feel comfortable. In addition to providing specialized treatment for anxiety, panic and depression, I also work with individuals on a range of life and relationship issues.

Common concerns that bring individuals into my office:

  • Anxiety, worry and panic
  • Depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions and stressors: divorce, separation, new relationship, moves, job changes, medical diagnoses
  • Shyness and social anxiety
  • Low self-esteem, wanting to be more assertive and confident
  • Relationship stress and conflict
  • Career dissatisfaction
  • Healing from past abuse or trauma
  • Understanding patterns from family of origin
  • Restlessness and wanting more meaning and satisfaction in life
  • Stress management
  • Difficulty finding or sustaining a healthy romantic relationship

My approach:
My approach to individual therapy is informed by evidenced-based models including interpersonal neurobiology and the latest neuroscience, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, positive psychology and mindfulness. My style is practical and solution-focused, balancing increasing insight with learning new skills necessary for positive changes. My goal is for you to walk out of my office with not only a greater understanding of yourself and your life, but also with a clear plan and practical tools for making the positive changes you want.

I would be happy to talk to you further about whether I may be a good fit for you. And, if I'm not, I will help you find someone who is.
